Title: Young Lady in a Tricorn Hat, 1755/1760

Artist: Giovanni Battista Tiepolo (1696-1770)

Who is the mysterious woman, most likely dressed for the annual celebration of carnival in Venice? We will probably never know.

For the summer, I am featuring paintings during the week for our viewers to contemplate and enjoy like Young Lady in a Tricorn Hat by 18th century Venetian master Giovanni Battista Tiepolo.  Periodically, I will also be contributing a blog on various subjects/topics on art and artists such as Van Gogh or Monet or even lesser known painters (but interesting!).
