THE ART OF AUGUST
The French master Eugene Delacroix’s use of a rich, multi-colored palette was an inspiration for the next generation of Impressionists like Renoir and Monet who succeeded him. His choice too of flowers –zinnias, hollyhocks, and dahlias–can be found blooming throughout the summer, overcoming the sometimes high temperatures and sudden storms of the season.
