We are heading across the waters of the Bahamas in a fine sloop, its sails swirling gracefully against the lowering clouds. A storm is brewing, promising a burst of rain, even thunder and lightning.
But never fear. Our helmsman is a native of the islands, experienced in the changeable weather of his birthplace. How many miles he must have sailed, both day and night, his only compass the sun, moon and stars.
