One of oldest university art galleries in the Western Hemisphere; established in 1832 with paintings of leading American artist John Trumbull; some 200,000 works of art today ranging from African to Early Italian to contemporary and other periods; Yale Center for British Art nearby.

Highly esteemed collection of American decorative and fine arts; known also for such icons of art as The Night Cafe.

Louis I. Kahn building considered a ground-breaking structure in museum architecture when erected in 1953; present renovation will be ending December 2012 (selected galleries open currently).
