Arts Everything Living: Van Gogh & A Fellow Artist–Two Views of Poppies, Daisies & Cornflowers

Eugene Petit, Still Life with Flowers, before 1886, oil on panel, Private Collection

French artist Eugene Petit (1839-1886) often interpreted bouquets of flowers with unusual sensitivity and feeling, apparent in the delicate arrangement of wildflowers above.  Dutch icon Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) also created his own version of the same subject, utilizing vibrant colors and energetic brushstrokes.
