Arts Everyday Living: Van Gogh & Impressionist Hassam—the Art of Cathedrals & Churches

Childe Hassam, Cathedral at Ronda, 1910, oil on canvas, Private Collection?

Both American Impressionist Childe Hassam (1859-1935) and Dutch master Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890) were drawn to architectural structures such as churches.  For example the cathedral above by Hassam in Spain, dates from the Renaissance period, while the French church below by Van Gogh, combines Romanesque and Gothic styles.  How would you compare each artist’s unique interpretation?
