Juliet Ward Howe, The Civil Wars of Julia Ward Howe
American Impressionist Childe Hassam (1859-1935) grew up in a Boston neighborhood and spent his early career in his home town. Julia Ward Howe (1819-1910), renowned for her poem Battle Hymn of the Republic as well as her advocacy of human rights, also resided in the capital of Massachusetts, beginning when she was first married.
