Arts Everyday Living: The Art of Cards–Ace of Clubs Deception to the Poker Game

French masters Georges de la Tour (1593-1652) and Felix Vallotton  (1865-1925) may have been separated by a few centuries, but both were intrigued by the game of cards. In The Cheat with the Ace of Cards above, for instance, the outcome will be negative for the gullible youth on our right, while The Poker Game may be reflecting Vallotton’s isolation from his family members who are playing together in the far corner of the room.
