Spanish Impressionist Joaquin Sorolla (1863-1923) was in demand as a portraitist during his lifetime, ranging  from the intense photographer above, fellow countryman Christian Franzen to heads of state such as American president William Howard Taft.  The innovative color photography of Austrian Ernst Haas (1921-1986) was often featured in popular magazines Life and Vogue in the post-War World II era.
