TWO WOMEN WITH SUNFLOWERS & MOONFLOWERS
A GIFT TO THE WORLD
After women, flowers are the most lovely thing God has given the world.
British artist George Dunlop Leslie (1835-1921) created mainly during the Victorian era. He specialized in genre scenes, often realistic in approach, such as Sun and Moon Flowers above which was painted in the countryside at Wallingford in Great Britain.
Parisian designer Christian Dior (1905-1957) dominated the fashion world in the 1950s with his then revolutionary “New Look.” With its long, full skirt, tiny waist, and rounded shoulders, this style was inspired by Dior’s vision of women as flowers.
