We had a successful Creative Art Journey session on Monday (see: October 21 blog), exploring the world of Monet’s water lilies.  We ended with a “Monet meditation” combined with the music of Claude Debussy.

Here’s an excerpt from that experience:

Close your eyes and listen to the music.  Let your mind become clear of all thoughts….

Take a deep breath…as you exhale slowly and completely…become centered and relaxed…

As you take in another breath…you see a path…and as you exhale…there is the bright white light protecting you…beckoning you…to follow the path…

In the distance you see a bridge…you want to cross the bridge…as you walk across you let your hand feel the smooth curve of the bridge…

There is water flowing beneath the bridge…flowing with harmony…and the bright, white light as a companion…You stop to watch the moving water…and see the sun’s reflection sparkle and dance with the flow…Feel the warmth of the sun…

There are water lilies…

But you see a group of special water lilies among many floating on the water…take a moment to just absorb…and feel the love…the perfection…these delicate flowers bring to you…

Go inside the flowers…sense the caress of the soft petals…search for the inner essence of the water lilies…while the warmth of the petals enfolds you…

Feel a total sense of beauty…a total joy…acceptance of all nature in the love of these special flowers…
