Arts Everyday Living: Memories of Childhood—The Children’s Hour in the Luxembourg Gardens

Albert Edelfelt, The Luxembourg Gardens, 1887, oil, Ateneum, Helsinki, Flnland

Known for his realism, Edelfelt invites the viewer into the middle of a lively (and undoubtedly noisy) group of children with their mothers and nannies on a sunny day in the famous Luxembourg Gardens.
