Arts Everyday Living: Impressionist Summer-Geraniums in a French Garden to A Country Cottage

Childe Hassam, After Breakfast, 1887, oil on canvas, Private Collection

American Impressionist Childe Hassam (1859-1935) was a prolific artist, creating some 3,000 works of art including oils, watercolors, etchings, and lithographs.  His paintings reflect the various places where he traveled and lived, from the intimate garden scene done while he was living in France from 1886-1889, to the rustic old house of East Hampton, Long Island where Hassam spent the last years of his career.
