HAWAII’S VAN GOGH

ARMAN MANOOKIAN

Although technically located in the Northern Hemisphere (where winter mainly reigns right now), it’s always summer in the Hawaiian Islands. Armenian-American artist Arman Manookian (1904-1931) is often referred to as Hawaii’s Van Gogh, after taking his life at 27; reportedly only 31 of his paintings have survived.
