 FLOWERS, FLOWERS—EVERYWHERE

A WEEK AT THE ART MUSEUM

NEW 2015 EXHIBITIONS

The next couple of days are going to be unusually busy for me, so I won’t have much time for my blogs.  However, from Monday through Friday, I’ll be providing a daily link to a current exhibition.

Van Gogh, Manet, and Matisse: The Art of the Flower is an exceptional show which I just saw at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond. Although most of the 8 rooms are filled with a bounty of blossoming Renoirs, Van Goghs, Cezannes, Manets, Matisses, Bonnards (and the lesser known bouquet specialist Henri Fantin-Latour), spectacular works created in the 18th and 19th centuries abound like The Gardener by Simon Saint-Jean below.
