If you are a fan of roses, here are two creative approaches by 1) French artist Gustave Bienvetu (1850-1916) who specialized in this elegant flower so beautifully rendered above, and 2) Irish painter Thomas Hovenden (1840-1895) who spent most of his career in the United States depicting a range of subjects, from still lifes such as Still Life with Fan and Roses below to historical themes.
