Arts Everyday Living: A Lifetime of Self Portraits, from Flamenco Dancer to Middle Aged Master

Ramon Casas, Self Portrait as a Flamenco Dancer, 1883, oil on canvas, Museu Nacional d’Arte de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain

Self portraits have been a popular subject with artists including Spanish artist Ramon Casas (1866-1932). However, his Self Portrait as a Flamenco Dancer is unique, done when Casas was only 17, seeming proud and haughty in his form fitting costume.  Yet, 25 years later, how would you describe the now middle-aged Casas and his development from a teenager to a man.
