Arts Everyday Living: A Week of Van Gogh Commemoration–The Labor of Genius

CELEBRATING VAN GOGH

THE LABOR OF GENIUS

If you have a voice within you saying, “you can’t paint,” then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced, but only by working.

This Wednesday, July 29, will mark the 125th anniversary of Vincent Van Gogh’s death in Auvers, France.  In commemoration, I’ll be featuring a daily work of art by Vincent, starting with his sketch included in the letter quoted above, symbolizing the artist’s determination to persevere as an artist with his heart and soul.*
