THE ART OF RELAXING

STARTS TODAY

I’ll be on vacation this week, but you can relax too through an artist’s eyes.  So take a moment, pause, and reflect on works of art like Homer’s The New Novel.   I’m refraining from my usual commentary while I’m on vacation, but I’ll be back on August 11.

Homer

Winslow Homer (1836-1910) is best remembered for his dramatic portrayals of the Maine coast.  However, during the 1870s, he produced numerous paintings and watercolors of fashionable women engaged in leisure activities.
