Here’s another reposted blog on American Impressionist Joseph DeCamp associated with the Boston School.
THE ART OF TRANQUILITY
THROUGH AN ARTIST’S EYES
How many times has she marveled at The Blue Cup, examining with pleasure its perfect dimensions and intricate patterns. A ritual she always performs in solitude without distractions, while taking inventory of her porcelain treasures. Notice, too, the clarity of the light bathing her figure and most of the interior created by Joseph DeCamp (1858-1923) in 1909. Reminiscent of the Dutch master Vermeer, who was this Boston Impressionist’s idol.
