Orazio Gentileschi (1563-1639) and Giovanni Lanfranco (1582-1647) were both Italian painters creating during the Mannerist and Baroque periods of art.  Gentileschi was also the father of Artemisia who has in recent years gained fame for her powerful works as well as her struggles as an early woman artist.
